Greetings.
My old college band from the early 1990s recently got back together via the internet to record some new tunes. I recorded guitars, midi synth, and did final mixing using Mixcraft 4.
These two songs were recorded practically "by satellite," with the musicians in different states communicating by e-mail and sending first mp3s then wav files by the internet to each other. We ran into considerable technical difficulties through this method, but the final results aren't bad.
Enjoy!

The unpluggd versions sounds better IMHO as it's less busy. The drums in the original I think may have been over-recorded thus not allowing you any headroom to get them up in the mix without washing out other things.madkins71 wrote:Thanks for the input. My drummer thought the same thing and I boosted his sound and reposted. We also posted an acoustic version of the song Clipboard in which I used Mixcraft 4 midi instruments, the cello to be specific.
This is has become my point of reference for levels now as it works for me,
