Certain Loops Crash Mixcraft 8 and 9
Does anyone know why certain drum loops would crash Mixcraft? I'm on 8 pro and the same loops are crashing the 9 demo I downloaded. It's actually the only thing keeping me from upgrading. TIA!

Hi,
What kind of loops are they? Wav files? MP3 files? Something else? What happens when you try to use them, exactly? Can you load them onto a track without crashing? When does the crash occur?

Sorry about, I guess I could have been more specific.
The loops are drum loops I purchased from Drums on Demand. Not all of them crash it but the ones that do crash it every time. One is a 575 kb WAV file called "!Chorus (2015_03_13 13_48_24 UTC)". The Bitrate is 1411.
When I load this loop nothing happens at all but then when I click anything I get the "Not Responding" message at the top of the window and then it turns a lighter color and never unfreezes. The other loops in this folder work fine, I just have random ones that crash it every time. They play and load in another daw so I have no reason to think the file is corrupt.

Hi,
Are you using Mixcraft 9.0 build 452 or higher?
You could send in the file and we'll see if it happens for us: https://acoustica.kayako.com/conversation/new

Yes, I have 452 but it does the same thing of the last version of 8 as well. I sent one of the loops.

Hi,
The same thing happens here. There must be something non-standard about those few loops. I passed it along to the software devs. Thanks for sending it in!

Hi,
Apparently, this wav file reports its tempo as a fractional number, which caused Mixcraft to throw up its hands in despair.
We'll add an update to ignore crazy tempo values and try to figure out the tempo using math.
Thanks for reporting this!
