Photos in Mixcraft 9
Hi All,
I've been creating a video with photos, all the landscape photo work fine, but all the portrait photos rotate 90 degrees to the left when I mixdown, even though they look fine in the preview. I have rotated the landscape photos 90 degrees to to the right thinking that this would fix the problem, but they remained at 90 left with I re-added them.
Any thought on how to resolve this?
Cheers,
Rob

Hi,
I guess the your best bet would be to edit the photos in a paint program, rotate them the way you want there, and then same them with that new orientation data before you bring them into Mixcraft.

Re: Photos in Mixcraft 9
Hi Greg,
I tried that, it didn't work. I downloaded some portrait pics from the web and they worked fine.
In the video track and in the Show Video Window the landscape photos have the correct orientation. It is only in the mixdown to MP4 do the portrait photos turn 90 degrees to the left. So it turns them into landscape view. It does not matter which way I rotate the photos, they always show up 90 degrees to the left.
Cheers,
Rob

When you say you tried it, what did you do, exactly?

Re: Photos in Mixcraft 9
I opened the portrait photos in Paint, rotated them 90 degrees right and saved them. I them put them back in Mixcraft and mixdown to MP4 and they were still 90 degrees to the left.

Hi,
Microsoft Paint? I wonder if it doesn't save orientation data? Maybe try a photo editing program?

Yes, I will try that next.
Even when I rotate them in Mixcraft and it shows on screen that they are rotated, in the mixdown they are always 90 degrees to the left.

Hi,
Yeah, that's why I was suggesting doing it externally first.
Edited to add: I filed a bug report.

Re: Photos in Mixcraft 9
I rotated it in an online photo editor and that worked.
https://www.befunky.com/create/
That gets me out of trouble.

Re: Photos in Mixcraft 9
Has this issue been resolved. It’s making me crazy.
No matter what I try when putting still photos into a video, I’m unable to get the rotate 90 degrees feature to work.
It’s corrected in the video preview window, but not the resulting MP4.
This has been a for quite a while according to previous posts.
Please help

Re: Photos in Mixcraft 9
Hi,
What are you using to rotate the photo? Apparently, Windows doesn't actually change the orientation of the image, it just notifies itself that the image should be rotated, leaving other programs without a clue.
Mixcraft 10 should handle this issue.

Re: Photos in Mixcraft 9
I'm using Mixcraft 9 build 469.
I see there's an update available, however I get 2 dialog boxes. The first one says " the requested URL was not found on the server"
the second one says "On Pre Install, Line 232, attempt to concatenate global 'latestVersionAvailableFor Update' (a nil value)
Stack Traceback:
1: [On Pre Install} Line 232 in Function 'Update'
2: [On Pre Install} Line 280 in main chunk
Please tell me how to proceed with my update.

Hi,
You've got Mixcraft 9 Pro Studio, correct? Download the latest version from the link in your registration email, or log into your account to find the download link: https://acdc.acoustica.com/.

Re: Photos in Mixcraft 9
Hi,
The photo rotation issue has been in mixcraft for years - why has it not been fixed - we should not need to find other tools to resolve acoustica bugs.
so a photo that is rotated correctly in other programs shows rotated left or right in mixcraft. If you fix the rotation in mixcraft and preview the video it works.
When you mix it down , it does not.
It's nothing to do with versions its a several year old mixcraft issue - i don't want to have to buy other software to put together a basic photo slideshow.
