Copying Tracks Across Projects

Post by balarila »

Is there a way to copy tracks across projects?

For example, I have a piano track in project A and I want to copy it into project B. I can export to MIDI then drag the MIDI file into project B. But I would lose all the FX and volume expression, etc.

Hi,

There's no way to copy all the effects. You can select the clips, copy them, then open the other project in the same instance of Mixcraft, and paste.

You could save a project as a template, and then the template would have all the effects (without the clips), but that's mostly useful when you're starting new project. It wouldn't be helpful for copying the tracks to an existing project.

You could save the chain then import it after pasting the track into the new project.

A signal chain is more than one effect stacked together. An easy way to do this is to click the disk on the Effect List Screen. A screen will pop up where you can enter the name for your custom signal chain.
