Record Multiple Tracks

Post by slh2536 »

Thinking of purchasing an interface with 4 preamp channels. I would like to run and record two keyboards in stereo at once. My question is will Mixcraft Pro allow me to record 4 tracks at once?

Hi! YES!

Go to preferences>Recording and halfway down select 'allow duplicate recording inputs' from the dropdown.

Hi,
Yes. If your audio interface has more than two inputs it can record multiple tracks at one time. I have a Focusrite 18i20 which has eight inputs, which I used to record a drum kit without any issues. When you arm your tracks for recording, you can select which inputs you want per track. Example: on the first track select inputs 1 & 2, on you next track select 3 & 4.
You can also look in the Mixcraft manual for more details.

Hi,

Trevor's suggestion is for people who want to record the same thing on two tracks at once, which is unusual. If you have an audio interface that has multiple inputs, install its driver and choose ASIO mode in Mixcraft's Sound Device preferences.

Click on the small arrow next to the Arm button on an audio track:
Arming option 1 on the left gives you input 1.
Arming option 1 on the right gives you input 2.
Option 2 on the left is input 3.
Option 2 on the right is input 4.

I stand corrected Greg :D

Never used it, but assumed this is what it was for.
