Output Bus Output selections not ssaving in MX 10.5
Hello all,
I have Output Buses going to Main Stereo and my monitor Output Bus going to Phones Stereo as used in MX 9 but in MX 10.5, they all revert to Default Playback Device.
Please advise,
Bob

Hi,
Do you have build 596? Is this only happening with Mixcraft 9 projects loaded into 10? If you save it in 10 does it save?

Hello Greg,
Yes, I am running build 596.
The project was built in MX 9 which I opened in MX 10.5.
I changed the output bus settings to Main Stereo and the monitor output bus to Phone Stereo then saved the project as an MX10 file.
I closed Mixcraft then reopened and reloaded the MX10 project but all of the output bus settings were set to Default Playback Device.

Hello,
I tested the same thing on MC 10 596 . Once I saved the MC 10 project with output bus tracks set to ADAT 5,6 and ADAT 5,7 I exited out of Mixcraft, started Mixcraft up and reloaded the project, the Output bus tracks switched to Default Playback Device.
MC 10 596 is not saving Output Bus track selections.

Re: Output Bus Output selections not ssaving in MX 10.5
Hi,
I opened up a Mixcraft 9 project and set one output track to go to my internal soundcard and the other one to go to my audio interface. I saved the project and it worked just fine.
Then I created a new project and did the same thing and that worked also.
I wonder what's different on your computers?

Hi Greg,
Did you try this with the MX 9 files saved as a MX 10 format?

Hi,
Yes, that was my first test: I opened a Mixcraft 9 project and saved it as a Mixcraft 10 project.
Was the Mixcraft 9 project created on a different computer that might have different output options?

Thanks for your help,
Bob

Hi Greg,
Using Mixcraft pro 10 596. Windows 11 pro. ASIO
Steps in MC 10
1. New project
2. Add two output bus tracks
3. Assign each to a different output source other than master or default
4. Save the project
5. Close Mixcraft
6. Open Mixcraft
7. Open recently saved project
The output bus tracks switch to default playback device.

Hi,
That was it: it only happens in ASIO mode.
Thanks for reporting this, I'll file a bug report!

Re: Output Bus Output selections not ssaving in MX 10.5
Hi,
When you switch between WaveRT and ASIO, it's normal for the output bus settings to revert to the default playback device, because Mixcraft doesn't know which outputs to use in the other mode. That's just the way it's going to work.
Can you get this problem to happen with just ASIO, and not switching between WaveRT, ASIO or Wave? Because I can't.
If you can get it with just ASIO, please go into General preferences, zip up your log files and submit an Acoustica Support Request.

Re: Output Bus Output selections not ssaving in MX 10.5
Hi,
I may not be back at my home studio for some time so I don't have access to the mixcraft setup there. But I only use ASIO. I don't switch to WaveRT. Unless Windows 11 switches it behind he scenes. Is there any way to tell if Windows 11 is using ASIO or WaveRT drivers?
Also does it matter if the check box for using the devices settings in ASIO makes a difference? I think I may have this checked. Also I have the buffer size set to 64. Don't know if that makes a difference in this case. Maybe the output bus doesn't like that.

Hi,
I tried it with these settings and I couldn't get it to happen. I also tried it with the option to use preferred settings and the option to ignore ASIO reset messages.
When you get a chance, get it to happen again and send in your log files.

Re: Output Bus Output selections not ssaving in MX 10.5
Hi Greg,
I submitted a ticket and attached the zipped log.
Following the log after the event: CProject::LoadProject() there is a point where the current ASIO driver is removed. Later on in the log I see this:
10:50:56 [295 mils] : COutputTrack::Load() - Could not find original output device ASIO mode 4 for driver:hdspfire
10:50:56 [295 mils] : Output Bus 0 cannot be assigned to the correct output device because the device does not exist.
This does not happen in MC 9 470 doing the same steps I outlined previously.
