Undo / Redo Hints and Punch-in / punch-out

Post by gtalb01 »

It's nice when the undo / redo tells you the action you're about to remove or reinstate. Especially, useful when you go back several steps and then want to move back forward.

I also concur that punch-in / punch-out is great, especially if you can easily mark those points with keyboard shortcuts. (Avid uses I and O)

Agree w/the Undo/Redo and PI/PO suggestions. Quite helpful to have both. I have been on REAPER for over a year now and it contains both features. Been opening up MixC6Beta every day now for my practice/play/RECing time and it is quite nice though.

Feature Requests & Issues

Post by midsummermagic1111 »

FREAKIN' AWESOME SOFTWARE!!!! Love it! So fun to use! Love the new look!!!

Feature Requests:
ÔÇó **Lyrics Track w/text wrapping for longer lyrics that need to fit in a confined time (hate using the video track for lyrics)
ÔÇó *More obvious coloring on track headers (for organization)
ÔÇó *Basic edit features so I don't have to open Audacity for my editing
ÔÇó *Punch-in / Punch-out
 More organic beats in loops area (rock, country, pop)
ÔÇó More reasonable icons.. That represent authentic instruments or cropped instruments.. Some of the pictures look like clip art
ÔÇó More imagery for effects.. I love when there is an edit button and an interactive image pops up that represents an amp or an effect box. It makes this SO fun. More more more!!! It also makes it a visual instruction for my students whom I use this software with in their lessons. Just fluff - I know - not urgent.

Problems:
ÔÇó Can't delete Video track by right clicking
ÔÇó No "Send" button on the mixer
ÔÇó On the mixer - it's kinda funky to have the track disappear when you click on the name.. I just want to select it that way naturally.. I feel to turn it off it would be better to click the actual box rather than the text because selecting the actual track by clicking on the actual track runs the risk of pressing buttons by accident (like adjusting the volume or arming the track by accident). Maybe a wider checkbox for ease of clicking on that end as well. (just my opinion)
ÔÇó Default color on the video track text is black on black - can't see what I am typing until I change one of the colors.

Hi,

Mixcraft 6 already has punch in / punch out. What do you mean by "basic editing features?"

Be sure that you also report problems directly to the beta team via the bug report form or their email.

Midi Control

Post by dmatchette »

I am a new Mixcraft 5 user and can't say enough good things about the program.

An important thing to me would be to have the mixer midi controllable. I have read that this may be a new feature in Mixcraft 6 if so woo hoo!

I haven't been through all of the loops yet but I haven't found a good double handed shuffle, calipso or any second line beats those would be nice also.

Thanks and I'm looking forward to the new version!

I recently tried the Mixcraft 6 beta and I find great you've implemented the drumkit-piano-roll-map :) feature.
Is there any chance you'd also implement an option to arrange the piano roll vertically? It would be very useful for more complex drum tracks editing using a computer with a widescreen.

I would LOVE to have real-time automation included as part of Mixcraft 6.

First off I just wanted to say, great work on Mixcraft 6!!!

Some long awaited features, like punch in/out and other recording options, and increasing Mixcraft's routing abilities with submix tracks and output busses, really make this an exciting release for me. Even simple things like putting dB levels alongside the meters are a big help.

One thing I'd like to see though is the ability to sidechain...any chance of that?

Also, could there be a way where you can add multiple sounds to a project at once, instead of having to add them file by file?

Somebody may very well have asked for this already; 7 + pages of posts is daunting reading! I also know I am way behind the eight-ball for M6.

The only thing that would make my life easier is a set of shuttle controls for controlling playback/preview in the waveform/sound view. Being able to independently rewind, forward, play and stop the audio preview would make my work a lot less stressful - I realise there are links between that view and the main view, however many times I've struck the situation where don't want to move the cursor from the main song view for whatever reason, yet need to tweak a sound file. I know I can click here and there but this also moves the position of the main cursor as well. It could also be I am not using it properly as well, I am by no means a pro with this software.

I guess this falls under the umbrella of the much-asked-for wave editing features - perhaps next version!

Hi!
I would love having more MIDI automation control (I'd say total control), like the possibility to see all MIDI controls with their name, at least the first 128, even if they're not used in the song, and to edit the one I want, for example RPN or NRPN, Value or MSB, LSB, etc. At present, if I want to add a control or edit it, I have to use an older MIDI program, save it then switch to MC, reload, lather and rinse and repeat... for every track. It would be very useful (at least for me) if that was included in one program and since I now use MC6 as my main studio, I'd be to heaven.

Another nice feature I already mentioned somewhere else for MC5 would be the ability to have more patterns for editing of the Pan or Volume or other parameters, like "straight line, sinus or hyperbolic design" instead of manual tracing only, which I find hard to draw if I need a few measures to be of the same value or vary the value equally for a certain length.

That would definitely give a Plus to my needs.
Thanks!

as posted in my thread:
http://forums.acoustica.com/bbs/viewtop ... =16&t=9819

have the possibility tu use a DAW controllers all 8 channelstrips instead of 1 channelstrip being assignable would be a huge improvement.

also the "jump to", "pickup" settings do not work for me at the moment
