Hello,
I am having trouble getting certain (most) virtual instruments to play a sound in Mixcraft Pro Studio 6. They all worked on my old PC with Windows XP. I have switched computers with Windows 8 and now some (most) of the virtual instruments won't play a sound. The virtual keyboard shows the keys being played but no sound. Specifically, Bass Synth will play 303 Acid Bass but the regular Bass folder will not play Slap Bass 1. These all worked before as I used the Slap Bass 1 in 2 of my recordings. Now when I load the project, there is no sound on that track. The midi notes are there just I recorded them but still no sound. I tried going into the ignore file and nothing is there blocking them from playing the sound. The other instrument that I know worked before but not now is the Fiddle.
Any help would be appreciated.
Note: I even tried uninstalling Mixcraft and re-installing, no avail.

Have you tried to run Mixcraft as admin? Right mouse button click on the icon and select Run As Admin
Hope this helps,

Re: No Sound with some Virtual Instruments
Hi,
It's possible that a crash caused Mixcraft to add the virtual instruments to its VST ignore file.
Here's how to fix this problem: use a text editor like Notepad to edit the vstignore.ini file and remove the names of any plugins that you don't want to ignore, then save the vstignore.ini file as plain text without changing its name and the virtual instruments should load the next time you run Mixcraft.
The location of the vstignore.ini file is as follows:
In Windows Vista, 7 or 8: C:\ProgramData\Acoustica\Mixcraft
In Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Mixcraft

For the first time I checked my ignore file and found three items: nsp.dll, msvcp, and msvcr. Are these supposed to appear by default?

Those are there by default and won't hurt anything.
