low mp3 volume

Post by vicarito »

I would appreciate some help in the following:

I have made 2 mp3s that sound good in the computer but when played somewhere else they sound very low in volume.
In mixcraft's mixer volume indicator is yellow almost in the red so I can not increase that more.
Than you very much.

you may want to try a VST "brick wall" limiter in your mix-down to give a boost to your overall volume but stop any peaks clipping. careful not too overdo it though as it can over-compress the life out of your music.

Typically, I find that the main stack volume has been turned down when the file has been mixed down. You'll typically have a very quiet rendering of your original file that "sounded great" but the file has a very small wave signature. Re-mixing, with the main volume in the appropriate level (we're typically putting it at the 73%ish mark) puts everything right.
