NEED HELP USING IVORY

Post by frankd14321 »

Ok, so I got everything working now with mixcraft 4.2

However, I installed Ivory and added the folder to the VST in preferences and I can't find Ivory anywhere in the program.

Please help, I need Ivory as I paid 1,500 for it LOL..

A VST instrument or effect is contained in a dll file. The folder containing this dll file is the one that you need. Make sure that you identified the correct folder.

Most programs installing vst's will allow you to identify where you want to install. Typically it's C:\Program Files\VstPlugins or C:\Program Files\Steinberg\Vstplugins

Dang, I was hoping it would be an easy fix.. but that didn't work. I had it scan every folder in the Ivory folder.. And I restarted the program and still nothing in the intruments catigory. Maybe they are not compatible? Which really sucks if that is the case. I don't get it though, it worked fine in Fruity Loops 4.. I just hate fruity loops that is why I switched to mixcraft.

Hi,

Where are you looking for Ivory in Mixcraft? Did you click on the small keyboard icon on an instrument track? Do that, then click on Show Details, then New Preset. Finally, click on <Select Synth>. It should be in the list of Software Synthesizers.

Just tried it, and its still not there.

Ivory in fruity loops opened as it's own software so I can see how you thought that would fix it. It's strang, I know a little about what I am doing here... the only thing I changed was I installed Ivory on an external 500GB hard drive since the whole program take 60GB

But I have the external on, I select the Ivory folder path in preferences than restart mixcraft and still nothing..

Any suggestions?

Have you checked out Synthogy's support page?

After reading that I now re-installed onto the C drive..

MixCRAFT picked it up!! YAY!!

HOWEVER! It still won't work... I can now see it and all the effects... BUT I CAN CHECK THE LITTLE CHECK BOX TO SELECT IT. Any suggestions or is this a lost cause.

Hi,

Walk me through what you are clicking on to select it.

I do what you said,

Did you click on the small keyboard icon on an instrument track? Do that, then click on Show Details, then New Preset. Finally, click on <Select Synth>. It should be in the list of Software Synthesizers.

However when I click on Ivory it doesn't select it... nothing happends.. It won't open... am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for all your help thus far.

Hi,

So, you're able to select Ivory as the software synth, but nothing happens when you click on the check box?
