overdubbing Demon Problem

I am having trouble monitoring live recording while overdubbing.
Computer is XP
Soundcard is Soundblaster X-FI 5.1

1. Recorded track 1 via line in to soundcard from keyboard.
2. Played back and heard track 1 thru soundcard
3. Recorded track 2, hearing track 1, but not track 2 as I was recording it
4. Played back tracks 1 and 2, heard both

* soundcard is default for recording and playback
* "overdub" is checked
* soundcard passed full duplex test
* record and playback sample rates and bit depth the same

What in the world have I missed?????

Hi,

Are you using Mixcraft 4.2 build 100?

Click on the arrow next to the Arm button and select "Monitor Incoming Audio." Does that help?

I was using 2.01, Build 40. I have upgraded and I'll try what you said.
