Bug?
Just an example:
1. Open Crazy About My Baby
2. Create some volume envelope points in Track 2 (Crashes)
3. Right-click sound and select Edit In External Editor...
4. Click Edit
5. Don't change anything in external editor, but go back to Mixcraft and
6. Click Done
You'll see the volume envelope points have moved (a bit to the right) - and maybe points at the end of the sound have been deleted...

Hi,
What external editor are you using? What version and build of Mixcraft are you using?
If you don't have version 4.5 build 116, download the latest version of Mixcraft here.

OK. Go to this site: http://www.2shared.com/file/5238333/66e ... strar.html
Go to the bottom of page
Click: "Save file to your PC: click here"
Unrar. Open project.
Edit sound in External Editor...
Click Done
Behold the volume envelope point change.
Can't reproduce it? Anyone?

I am able to reproduce the bug when opening your project. Mixcraft v4.5 build 107. Using both Wavosaur and Soundforge 9. But I don't think it has anything to do with the external editor.
With your testrar project the beginning and ending volume points stay the same, the added volume point disappears. Doesn't matter if I click Done or Cancel. Same result. Have moved, shortened, and edited exact volumes of points.
Have slightly lengthened the clip and added another volume point between the last two. Both added points disappear.
However, if I lengthen the clip to near the full length of the whole loop and then attempt to edit the problem does not occur. Shortening the clip again makes the bug recur.
I remember coming across this problem once with version 3, but it "went away" and didn't happen again. I have not been able to duplicate this with a new project even when I load your track and duplicate your project exactly.

I also opened "Crazy About My Baby" and duplicated the bug that you described. I was able to do the same thing on every audio track in that project. The added volume points all move to the right - different amounts with each edit.
BTW, I updated to 4.5 build 116 with the same results.

Thanks for testing this.
But if Edit A Copy Of The Sound is selected it will only happen if you click Done.
Using XP SP3.
Hope this helps...
Same here.Vibrant Audio wrote:I also opened "Crazy About My Baby" and duplicated the bug that you described. I was able to do the same thing on every audio track in that project. The added volume points all move to the right - different amounts with each edit.
Me Neither. It also happens if I use Winamp as external editor.I don't think it has anything to do with the external editor.
It happens right after the Parsing process. So if Type Of Edit is set to Edit Actual Sound it will happen when you click Done or Cancel in the "Waiting..." dialog.Doesn't matter if I click Done or Cancel.

It happens in all the example songs = I guess it happens in any project here. Can you confirm this, Vibrant Audio?Does it only happen with that sound and that project?
Not sure what you mean. The sound file in my testrar project is a wave file...What if you try it with a wave file?
An advice for replication:
Zoom maximum in on end of the sound and create some volume points there. Then Edit in external...

Hi,
I'm seeing it now. It looks like it is related to Mixcraft parsing the sound. I had tested it with a quick voice recording I'd just made in Mixcraft, so it wasn't being parsed, and I wasn't seeing the bug. That's why I asked about wave, I was thinking it was an ogg problem.
Okay, thanks for reporting this! I'll log it so it can be fixed in a future update.
