Recording at wrong speed

I have tried resolve by reading Help and posts but without success.

The noises I make are atonal, arhythmic muck on a modular synth. Often Mixcraft works perfectly, but sometimes it just records 'at the wrong speed' and I end up with a Chipmunks rendering.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi,

In Mixcraft, click on the File menu, select Preferences, and in the Sound Device preferences, if you are using Wave, change the sample rate to 44100 and the bit depth to 16-bit.

THat's got it, thanks Greg. I was previously in ASIO.
