Freeze on Burn

Post by madrona »

I start the burn on an external HP burner. It gets about half way through the first track and then freezes.

Have tried this on 2 different recordings, same result.

What should I look at other than a different burner program.

Hi
It appears that you possibly don't have enought Available Ram to digitize a whole disk.
Check your "Start Up' File and delete whatever you don't absolutely don't need.
Also, disconnect , printers, copiers and ther USB devices before starting SIA.
I use 4 Gigs, 2 gigs s/b the minimum needed for trouble free didgitzing.

Doubt the RAM is problem. I have 8 gigs, with a quad processor.

Any other ideas?

Try going into the programs settings and switch the burn engine, try primo first then the others.
FYI: External burners are a little more finicky than internal, you'd no doubt have better luck with an internal burner.

I tried using an internal DVD burner. Same problem. It stop part way through 1st track.

In recording settings I see only 2 options Default Wave Device and Inline Realteck Hi Defination

I do not see other burner options mentioned in this forum.

I have sample rate at 44100 Buffer 16 Bit Depth 16 buffer size 32768

Hi,

If you don't already have version 2.5 build 46, try upgrading your copy of the program. You can get the latest version of Spin It Again here.

Once this version is in place, click on Settings and, in the Miscellaneous settings, try switching to the Primo burning engine. Click OK to accept the change, then quit Spin It Again and reopen it. Now try burning a CD.

I just bought the hard copy, the box says version 2.5. Nowhere can I find a build or version number in the program. Where is it located?

The site you posted give a sample version. Does it also have updates someplace? Or do you just download the trial program and type in the registration code and ID from the box?

Hi,

The version and build number is visible along the top of the Spin It Again screen.

Yes, you can just download and install from the link I sent you and you probably won't even have to register again.

Well DUH! I see I have 2.5 v b46. Blind as a bat I guess.

Checked the Misc. setting and it was on the Primo engine.

Getting resigned to the fact I will have to use another program to burn with playlist. Unless you have something else I should try.

Using Win7 64bit OS on fairly new computer.

Hi,

Here are some things to try:

1. Try lowering your burn speed.
2. Choose the option "Convert to WAVE files first."
3. Try a different brand of disc. Make sure they are CD-R discs and not CD-RW discs.
