Acoustic 8 FX not available in 9?
Although I copied the VST 8 folder to 9 (added to VST Folders in preferences) these effects (Acoustica's reverb flanger etc) don't show in 9.
But copying 9 to 8, all FX show in 8

Hmm, I have the old Acoustica 8 FX's in Mixcraft 9 Pro. I did it the easy way... When installing Mixcraft 9 Pro, I checked the box adding the vintage Mixcraft 8 stuff.

Hey Trevor,
Make sure you arent confusing 32 bit and 64 bit plug-ins and hosts.
But assuming you arent trying to find 64bit plugs from a 32 bit host.......
In theory, if one had MX8 and the classic plug-ins installed, then installed MX9, it should "see" the old plug ins whether you elected to install the classics or not.
(I'll double check this later tonight, as I elected not to on my install.)
But either way, re-running the installer and electing to install them is still an easy option. The full install only takes me a couple minutes.

Re: Acoustic 8 FX not available in 9?
Just in case anyone wondered, I did verify this. I left the "install classic plug-ins" buttons unselected upon installing MX9 and all of them (from previous version installations) are showing up as suspected.Mark Bliss wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 3:20 pmIn theory, if one had MX8 and the classic plug-ins installed, then installed MX9, it should "see" the old plug ins whether you elected to install the classics or not.

Not sure what the reason was for Trevor's going missing, but the fix was simple enough.

Good morning,
The Acoustica FX don't appear to be .DLL plug-ins, which is why you can't find them in the explorer. (Either that or they are hidden files!)
Best,
Nathan

True. They are not in the VST folder and I believe they have a "proprietary" file extension.
But since MX9 is "seeing" them, despite not selecting the classic installation, I must assume its still "looking" at that program folder where they are located.

Hi,
They are in the FX folder, and they have .fx extensions.

I also failed to check the Classic FX box during install and they did not show up in MC9. I simply copied them & the FX folder from MC8 over to MC9 and rescanned VSTs. Now they do show up.

Hi,
To avoid confusion, it would probably be best for many people to just run the installer again and choose to install the legacy plugins. Why? Because a person might decide to uninstall the old version of Mixcraft later, and then wonder where those plugins when.
