Kontakt 6.7.x GUI missing 20%?

So I used Native Access to install Kontak 6.7.1 on my laptop. Ye! Short solo live gig tomorrow. Ye!

HOWEVER. When I open Kontakt (not Player) in Mixcraft (8), I'm missing the very important right side of the GUI.

How can I customize an instrument's settings when 20% of the GUI is missing?? And I see no anchor point to drag the box larger or smaller.

Before blaming Kontakt ► when I open the standalone version (not the Player) it's good. So why not in Mixcraft?

P.S. it's also doing this to a lesser degree in Omnisphere, and not consistently. I have to hover over the right side of the toolbar for the red X to show up. Annoying.

Hi,

This is fixed in Mixcraft 9.0 build 470.

For Mixcraft 8, use VST2 instead of VST3.

There was unfortunately no option to choose VST2 or VST3, it did all the install without showing any options. Can this be redone?

Mixcraft 9... Ah my old foe is back! Seriously, I got to track down that GUI magician who emulated MX8 GUI on MX9... But not right now. I have a gig tomorrow and would love to fix this before I have to learn to navigate a new visual environment.

HI,

Mixcraft 9 has a Mixcraft 8 theme you can select in Display preferences.

When you install Kontakt, it asks where to put the VST2 plugins. Maybe you already have them. On my computer, they are here:

C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins 64 bit\

Go into Plug-Ins preferences, click Edit VST/VSTi Folders, and add that pathname if it's not listed, then restart Mixcraft.

If you never installed the VST2 version for some reason, you could run the Kontakt installer again and choose to install them.

It's close, but I'd rather have a lighter background (like on MX8) on the left sidebar and on the tracks background. Too dark right now. It strains my eyes. I prefer the lighter grey, it's much softer on the eyes for long sessions too.

As for the stripes on muted tracks, can I get rid of that too?

The difference is too wide between the light and the dark, but it's a tad easier on the eyes. Except for all the sharp vertical lines. It was better just having the time or beat darker lines located at the 4/4, not dark for every in between.

Anyways, I'll try to play with the graphic files in Photoshop, maybe I can customize it for myself (after making a backup copy of the folder, of course).

My laptop Windows 10 doesn't like Mixcraft? The same link installed on my PC today.

Had to request codes again, I received the very same, but this time the installer worked... en Francais. Oh well, at least it's installing. Being Francophone helps...

That's odd, unless you have Windows set to the French language. You can change the language setting in General preferences.

No big deal, Greg. And I'll set it to English later on.

BTW, thanks for the link to Focusrite settings, it turned out my laptop was not optimized correctly either.

Only when creating a new Power Plan could I see an option for "High Performance Mode," so I took some time to go over a few of these recommendations from Focusrite. It really made a difference. Otherwise Kontakt would choke with 97% system resources taken. Not good for a live gig! I tested Kontakt again after tweaking and it's a 99% improvement.
