Okay, I am running line in from my guitar amp to my soundcard to record my guitar tracks now. But, I have a Line 6 AX 212 amplifier for my guitar that has a MIDI in and a MIDI out. What do I need to utilize the MIDI option for recording into my pc?
Right now I'm using the Line out from my amp to the soundcard using an 1/8 inch adapter, and while it sounds ok, it seems to add a bit more bass tone to my guitar than I like. So, what would ya'll recommend this newb do?

Midi is not a sound signal, it is a control signal that can switch channels, tell a synth to play a certain note, etc.
Line outs on amps are usually not very good sounding compared to the sound you get through your speakers.
There's a only a few ways to get a signal out of an amp you can record.
Line out from the amp.
Microphone in front of an amp.
A device like the Palmer PGA-04 that can soak up an amps speaker out power and then filter the signal so that it sounds like a real amp.
I have a Palmer, very expensive but awesome tone.
