Does Mixcraft 8 Pro come with a high pass and low pass filter control. I don't see one. I am using a 3rd party one with a rotary dial that doesn't tell me the exact value I am getting.
If not, what are some 3rd party VSTs to do this, preferably free.
Thanks for any help.

One option would be the TB Parametric EQ
The highest and lowest bands can be set to filter and the Q is adjustable as well.

You can set Low Pass and High Pass for each track or clip by clicking on the clip and dragging the line (which by default is set to effect the volume) on the clip itself. The menu is displayed in this image

Mark, this is a useful idea, thanks. I haven't really looked at this, although it is in my projects. (It is part of a "rock ballad" vocal preset, to attenuate unwanted low end noise in vocals.)Mark Bliss wrote:Hi Tiger,

I will have to play with this, although at first glance, only half of the controls seem obvious. I might not need to learn it all; the preset "80 HZ low cut" looks like it is just about what I want.
Certainly more information than just turning a rotary dial marked "high pass" to an approximate number!

I am not a big fan of presets for EQ settings. Every piece of audio is different. Using a preset is often at best, a wild guess.
But anyway, to get you started, for a HPF:
Open the TB para EQ and click on the low band, then the "filter type" box and select "low cut"
You can drag the band 1 icon left and right to change the cut freq. or click in the freq box and drag to change the value.
You can also alter the "Q" factor similarly, but I would caution against getting too aggressive as it can lead to problems with "resonant frequencies" as a result of the way EQ's work.

Hello...telephones were invented when the transducers had horrible resonance and distortion above 3kHz so they designed the telephone system to cut all important high frequency speech consonants sounds. They also cut all low speech frequencies to make the telephones sound "tinny". I have observed, the PCB Assembly of components also plays an important role in resonance and distortion. So, the design of PCB should be carefully considered when you consider the resonance and distortion.
