I have a Dean Markley acoustic pickup plugged into the' line in' on my sound card. It worked once and now nothing. Also, a mic plugged doesn't seem to work either. Win7 box. Is the card bad?

The recording devices are probably just disabled, it is default for some cards and windows vista/7
Right click the speaker icon in your system tray (by the clock), choose recording devices.
Then right click inside the window and choose to show disabled devices.
If you then see line in, mic or anything else, right click on it to enable it.

Clicking in the speaker icon shows 'no audio devices installed'?

Hi,

Check with your sound card or computer manufacturer and make sure you've got the latest audio drivers.
